On June 2, at Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze Theater was held the closing ceremony of the VI International Festival "From Easter to Ascension", which was established in 2006 by International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia upon blessing from His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II.

This year festival was held at the sixth time. The Artistic Director of the festival was a famous Georgian pianist Alexander Korsantia who currently occupies in US. Traditionally, the festival started after Easter, on April 27. Four evenings of the festival were held at the Great Hall of the Georgian Conservatory, and the final concert took place at the Tbilisi Event Hall. The premiere of the new musical composition by His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II - "Sunctus", which was composed for 4 soloists, chorus and orchestra, had the great success. The premiere of the “Sunctus” composition also took place at the closing ceremony of the festival in Batumi.

The State Symphony Orchestra of Batumi under direction of David Mukeria, the State Choir of Georgia, soloists of the Opera Studio and pianist Nino Ushikishvili - the aspirant of the recently returned from US Georgian famous pianist Alexander Korsantia, also participated in the final concert of the festival.

The event was organized by the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and Akaki Ramishvili’s foundation – “Innovation and Tradition".

The final concert was organized by support of Minister of the Eduacation, Culture and Sport of Adjara Autonomous Republic and "SOCAR" and "Goodwill" companies.
